We want the best for our bodies. We look for the cutest clothes, the nicest shoes, and look to find the tastiest item on the menu when we go out to eat. It has also become a trend to eat organic, and for good reason. Eating organic can limit the amount of pesticides and chemicals you are putting into your body. Your bodies are strong and a healthy body has the ability to adapt to most circumstances. By providing it with healthy and chemical free food we can better help ourselves.
What eating organic means
1. The food is fresher. Don’t forget to shop local. Because they don’t use preservatives ( If they don’t coat it with wax) the food has to be sold within a timely manner.
2. Organic farms are usually more concerned with alternative ways o conserve water. Work more efficiently and get rid of rodents and insects in other ways that doesn’t involve poisoning the soil. It can be a lot of pressure to run an organic farm and these guys work hard to provide good crops. At least this is true from the farms I’ve talked to in my local area.
3. Pesticides can be taxing on your immune system and your organs. Buy ingesting less of them you have a better chance of feeling healthier and getting more nutrition from your food.
Its expensive to buy organic how can I cut my costs?
1. Figure out your budget is NUMBER 1! Figure out where your money is going to. Most often times you’ll find your spending more money on items that really don’t have much nutrition or calories: chips, crackers, gummies, candy, dips, salsa, cereal, juices, ect. Cut those costs and instead use that money toward veggies and fruits like: Sweet potatoes, celery, organic eggs, Pears, Peaches, basically whatever is in season and local for the area that you are living in.
2. Have recipes prepared and make sure you section out time to cook or use the produce you bought. If your working a basic 9-5 it probably isnt a good idea to buy a ton of potatoes or onions if you don’t have the time to cook them. Although if you have at-least one night then roast a huge batch and use the leftovers for the next couple days for lunch and dinner. Get fruits that don’t need to be refrigerated. If you decide to buy the organic eggs remember you can always hard boil them one day and eat them throughout the week. Being prepared and thinking ahead will save you a lot in food waste and in the long run save you money.
I understand there is still a lot of people out there who don’t understand why eating organic is important so I encourage you to try it for 6 months and see not only how you feel but how your body responds. You might find that by cutting out the processed foods you will begin to loose weight, feel less foggy headed, have more energy, and feel less tired.
