This versatile recipe sparks my creativity. I can choose to make them spicy by adding jalapeno, or savory by just doing herbs. It takes about 10 minutes to prep and 15 minutes in the oven. The more times you make this recipe the faster you can make them, and the less you will feel guilty for eating them as they come out of the oven. They can be a bit heavy so if you want them less dense add an extra egg. YUM!
Ingredients
Oven to 350
Line baking sheet with parchment paper
Mix all dry ingredients ( flours, salt, baking soda, herbs, garlic) into one container. Then mix the wet ingredients together in a separate bowl. Place the Cold Duck Fat into the dry ingredients first and mix roughly.
Place the wet ingredients in with the dry and mix roughly, do not over mix.
Your finished product should look lumpy and as soon as it does I used two spoons to grab some dough out and place on baking sheet. This gives the “look” of biscuits.
Place portions on a baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper and place in 350 degree oven for 15 minutes. You will start to see the tops brown and once that happens pull them out and set them on a cooling rack if you have one (*optional)
